Paul Herdsman is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of NICE Global, a Jamaican based full-service BPO (Business Solutions Provider). They provide various outsourced services such as technical support, sales, helpdesk services, etc. Clients can focus on growth and operations in other business areas as costs for staff, training and departmental fixtures are reduced and combined into one support cost. Of course, this involves understanding the client’s environment and their specific business needs so the service provided feels like a part of the existing system.
The approach to business that Paul has taken is to invest in Human Resources. The idea is that by increasing staff expertise and fostering a feeling of personal development, NICE Global will experience long-term growth and retain staff because of the resultant increase in staff morale.
Paul prepared for his role as a COO by focusing on fostering good customer experiences and organizing operational processes. This focus, he says, allowed him to hone his skills in the areas of customer service and operations – skills which he would eventually bring to NICE Global.
To be a successful entrepreneur, Paul Herdsman believes, requires the ability to strike a proper balance. This means familiarity with and proper execution of concepts such as time management, multi-tasking and streamlining operations. He believes that it is pertinent to be able to identify what is important to the goals aimed for and to ignore any unnecessary noise.
Outside of the business world, Paul enjoys spending his time doing family bonding, as well as fishing and golf.
